Our internists act as central specialists in our center. They have a lot of contact with other departments and referrers. The internists are broadly educated (general internist) and are especially concerned with prevention, diagnosis and treatment of internal organ diseases. Special areas of focus are type 2 diabetes, overweight and high blood pressure, but we also treat patients with hormonal complaints, gastrointestinal and liver complaints, screening for the cause of weight loss/weight changes and general complaints. We do not treat malignancies (cancer), no gastro- and colonoscopy, no type 1 diabetes, no allergies and no acute medicine. We also do not have a hospital admission. For gastro- and colonoscopy, we refer you to our gastroenterology department.
During the consultation, you will have enough time to describe your complaints and discuss the diagnosis and the related treatment plan with the internist after the necessary examinations.
The Internal Medicine Department has partnerships with: Amsterdam UMC, OLVG and ZMC (oncology).
