Before completing her medical training, she studied applied physics at the Delft University of Technology. She combined both in her research at the department of biomechanical engeneering (TU Delft) and the department of orthopaedics (LUMC). After working in st Mary’s Hospital (London) she received her surgical training in the Leiden region and further subspecialised in foot/ankle and hand/wrist surgery at the Haga Ziekenhuis (the Hague). She was fellowship trained in Oxford at the the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre (Oxford). On completion of her fellowship she gained the function of visiting consultant foot and ankle surgery. At the University Hospital of Leuven she completed her fellowship in hand and wrist surgery. In the years 2017 to 2020 she worked as a consultant in the Hospital Amstelland (Amstelveen). During this period she has travelled to Barcelona for a fellowship in hand wrist surgery at the Institut Kaplan. In her work she finds it of great importance to listen to her patients and to comunicate the treatment options.
