During my study of medicine at the University of Amsterdam, I discovered that radiology specialization suits me perfectly, because it is a very broad and dynamic profession. As a radiologist you play a central role in imaging diagnostics and interventions. First you have to know the entire anatomy of the body using the different modalities (X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI). Next you have to recognize any deviations on the images, in order to arrive at the correct diagnosis. In addition to assessing the images, I also take part in multidisciplinary discussions and there are also some therapeutic options. What also makes the profession fascinating is that you work as a radiologist with equipment that continues to develop at lightning speed. I followed my training as an all-round radiologist at the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven. The following years I worked in the Amstelland Hospital in Amstelveen, where I developed further in musculoskeletal radiology, mammaradiology (breasts), and cardiovascular radiology (CT and MRI of the heart). I am now proud to be part of the ACIBADEM International Medical Center, where I can provide top care through short lines of communication with good professionals in an extremely comfortable and patient-oriented environment.
