We Invest in the Future
At Acibadem Academy, We Invest in the Future
At Acibadem International Medical Center, we believe in fulfilling a social role. Besides providing care, we are actively working to address the shortage of healthcare personnel. We achieve this by training and closely mentoring medical and healthcare students. In doing so, we not only contribute to the community but also invest in the future of healthcare.
Training & Mentoring Students
General
At Acibadem, we offer a variety of accredited training programs for cardiac function technicians, (recovery) nurses, medical assistants, and surgical assistants. We collaborate with institutions such as VUMC, AMC, Amstel Academy, ROC TOP, Nova College, and operate under the supervision of the Cooperative Organization for Vocational Education and Business (SBB). SBB accredits vocational training programs (recognized training companies) and ensures the quality of education. This guarantees students the best hands-on training, leading to promising career opportunities.
Additionally, medical students have the chance to gain both theoretical knowledge and practical experience. We offer work placements across various departments, and since 2024, students can also complete part of their clinical rotations at Acibadem, all under the guidance of our specialists.
Training Programs at Acibadem
To train the next generation of healthcare professionals, we collaborate with two key partners:
- For Recovery Nursing (non-ventilated patients), we work with Amstel Academy.
- For Nursing and Medical Assistant training, we collaborate with Nova College.
Both institutions are certified training providers.
- Amstel Academy
In collaboration with Amstel Academy, we train Recovery Nurses and Radiology Technicians. We adhere to the Amstel Academy curriculum and admission requirements (Link to program details).
- Nova College
Acibadem IMC has been collaborating with Nova College for several years to train Medical Assistants and Nurses. Students can complete their practical internships with us, performing medical procedures under the supervision of a clinical mentor. We offer both BOL (full-time) and BBL (work-study) programs.
Accredited programs available at Acibadem:
- Cardiac Function Technician
- (Recovery) Nursing
- Medical Assistant
- Bachelor of Nursing (HBO-V)
Student Mentoring at Acibadem
In addition to training students, Acibadem also provides workplace mentoring for students from various programs. We guide students from Amsterdam UMC pursuing careers as Surgical Assistants, Anesthesia Assistants, or Radiology Technicians. While we do not participate in student recruitment and selection, our involvement increases training capacity, allowing Amsterdam UMC to accept 4 to 6 additional students per academic year.
Acibadem mentors students from the following programs:
- Surgical Assistant (in collaboration with Amsterdam UMC & Amstel Academy)
- Anesthesia Assistant (in collaboration with Amsterdam UMC & Amstel Academy)
- Radiology Technician (in collaboration with Amsterdam UMC & Amstel Academy)
We take pride in these partnerships and hope to continue training many future healthcare professionals.
Through this initiative, we also offer retraining programs and professional mentoring. Interested? Email us with your motivation at: solliciteren@acibademimc.com
Medical Student Pool
Acibadem maintains a pool of medical students employed as on-call staff. They can assist in both outpatient clinics and operating rooms, gaining valuable hands-on experience. To join this pool, students must complete a series of internal training courses.
